In a nutshell
Since 2012, scientists conduct research related to the dam removal project on the Sélune River. They are specialized in various domains such as geology, hydrology, chemistry, biology or human and social sciences. So far, they focused on understanding how the river works with its dams. In 2020, they will be interested in the functioning of this ecosystem without the dams. Comparing these two phases, they will be able to characterize dismantling effects and therefore, ecological costs and profits linked to the comeback of a fluvial ecosystem.
