Program organisation

Program organisation

Since 2018, the scientific program is being managed by an agreement between the State and several partners. Coordinated by INRAE, the programme is also supported by a steering committee and a scientific advisory board.

A framework agreement to lead the program

Since 2018, the scientific program is being managed by a framework agreement between the State (represented by the DDTM50, the Manche prefecture and the Avranches sub-prefecture), the National Research Institut for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE), the Seine Normandie Water Agency (AESN), the French Biodiversity Office (OFB), the French National Fishing Federation (FNPF), and EDF. These partners form the steering committee for the scientific program.

The steering committee finances, leads and ensures the smooth running of the scientific program. It takes advice from an independent scientific advisory board made up of around ten scientific experts. This scientific advisory board monitors the quality of the research carried out, ensures that the results are put to good use and suggests/validates new avenues of research to be developed.

The scientific coordination unit

The program is coordinated by INRAE, within the UMR DECOD, which has a scientific coordination unit dedicated to the program. This unit is made up of a project leader and a project manager, who are responsible for liaising between the various players involved in the program, monitoring research projects and helping to promote the programme. An Information System (IS) administrator also reports to the coordination unit. His job is to facilitate the storage and accessibility of data from the program (research projects and observatory) for the various scientific partners and the public.

The coordination unit therefore works closely with scientists from various research units involved in research projects and the Selune Observatory. The coordination unit is generally responsible for maintaining links and circulating information between the project owners (responsible for the decommissioning works), local and international stakeholders and the public.
